SF Agriculture paid nearly BGN 73 million (BGN 73,032,701) under 2019 Campaign coupled support schemes for fruit and vegetables. Subsidies were granted to 13,221 farmers who applied for areas of fruit, vegetables and greenhouse production. Farmers of organic areas were also included in the payment. Payments to organic producers comply with the requirements for minimum yields from the applied areas for the respective crop amounting to 50% of these (according to Annex No. 5 of Ordinance No. 3 of 17 February 2015).

SF Agriculture has transferred nearly BGN 75.6 million (BGN 75,678,249) to 40,510 farmers under the Transitional National Tobacco Assistance Scheme. The financial support was approved on the previous day by The Management Board of the Fund and was fully allocated under 2019 Campaign to producers of the Virginia, Kaba Kulak, Burley and Basmi varieties in the reference period 2007-2009. Rates under the scheme are set by order of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.

On 24th February, the State Fund Agriculture (SFA) shall launch the admission under the new National Beekeeping Programme, applicable for the three-year period until 2022. For the current year, the financial resources amount to BGN 6,399,307.

Nearly BGN 2.9 billion in support shall be allocated to farmers in 2020, after the government approved the annual estimates of EU funds to the State Fund Agriculture. Direct area payments, market measures, the Rural Development Programme (RDP) and the Maritime and Fisheries Programme are planned to be funded with a total of BGN 2.8988 billion. Of these, BGN 2.6331 billion shall be provided by the EU and BGN 265.7 million – by the national budget.
